About
Umm Thabit Hafsah Bint Ahmed Geedi, is the founder of a platform called Hidden Diamonds. She is from the elders who have been educating women and children for years.
The launch of ‘Hidden Diamonds’ was approximately in the year of 2007 and it soon developed as an Islamic knowledge-based blog where sisters dedicated their time and efforts to propagating authentic literature, educating Muslim women, providing beneficial resources and with facilitating connections to the Scholars for their much-needed queries and beneficial works.
Scholars such as Shaykh Al- Fawzaan, Shaykh Rabi, Shaykh Ubaid Al-Jaabri, Shaykh Al-Albaani, Shaykh ibn Baaz, Shaykh Uthaymeen and others from the noble scholars have been sources of reference for ‘Hidden Diamonds’ and will continue to be with the permission of Allah.
Umm Thabit's focus has always been calling to Tawheed; the goal being for the Muslim to apply the knowledge, thus living a happy, enriched life in this world and in the Hereafter by worshipping Allah عزوجل and loving Him upon correct knowledge.
The late Allaamah, Shaykh Hassan ibn AbdulWahhab Marzooq Al-Banna (may Allah have mercy upon him) gave Umm Thabit permission to teach. Within this advice was a golden principle and an important safeguard for those wishing to teach others. Essentially, it is advice to not exceed the speech of the scholars in teaching from their books/works. The advice was as follows:
‘You have for example the book ~ *’The Three Principles’ ~ explained by Shaykh al-Fawzaan. This sister or the brother brings the book to the one who is new to Salafiyyah and he takes the book and reads it and reads the explanation, without increasing anything. For example, he understands the book - the text and the explanation - and teaches those in front of him without increasing anything from himself. If he wants to speak afterwards and make befitting additions with an ayah or hadith that the Shaykh has not mentioned, then this is possible after the people of knowledge authorize him, but in the beginning, he should just read the text and its explanation without increasing anything.
Along with the aforementioned shaykh, the Muhaddith Shaykh Al- Albani (may Allah have mercy upon him) was also an important influence in the life of Umm Thabit. By the Permission of Allah, she would telephone this noble shaykh to ask questions. Alhamdulilaah. By the Bounty of Allah عزوجل Umm Thabit has gained beneficial insight as it relates to the harms that are plaguing our communities. Due to this, within the platform of ‘Hidden Diamonds' she hopes to present some solutions and strategies to benefit the Muslim.
Hidden Diamonds still functions as an avenue for sisters and small children to learn their religion. However, we are now in the process of developing an adult and child training forum which would enable mothers to learn alongside their children.
With the permission of Allah ta’Ala we see this as a unique way of learning which will enable parents to achieve a greater nearness to their child/children upon knowledge of the religion. We anticipate this way of learning will be enjoyed by all! … biithnillaah ta’Ala. We encourage collective learning since it is from the example of our Pious Predecessors and many blessings and benefits can be derived in this way biithnillaah. In the near future we will be offering weekly lessons and also a course covering aspects as mentioned InshaAllah.
In summary, the aim of ‘Hidden Diamonds’ is to provide our sisters, daughters and children with authentic information about Islam in areas of belief, methodology, worship, history, family structure, children development and education. The goal is to strengthen the individual upon the authentic belief through their various trials in achieving a commendable outcome, with the permission of Allah. All things are easy upon Allah عزوجل
